Beloved,
A friend who happens to share my
vocational gig was approached recently by his chairdude of finance who started,
"Have you seen our latest receipts?"
Despite every church and
organization and club and business (except drug companies) and state and
government agency (except for you know who/what) experiencing accelerating
financial challenges, my friend, naturally more than spiritually at that
moment, began wondering what more he could do to solve a problem plaguing
everyone.
I said, "Well, the problem is
you've got too many people in your church who are just too rich to tithe."
$ sparks the blame game.
It's especially true in churches
where pastors are blamed for infidelities to God reflected in the mirror.
Well, the confrontation that
hit my friend for something much deeper than a pastor's ability to stand
on her/his head while shaking a tambourine to raise $ provoked me to write a
forthcoming newsletter column about $.
Today's KD
is about $; and, parenthetically, it
includes my favorite love song. If you guess which one and why, I'll give
a free book to you! No, not that one! Another one!
Also, I will be talking a lot about
Christians and $ on tomorrow's edition of KD
on www.bnnsradio.com
live at
11:30 a.m. It's sure to make some people feel guilty; and, BTW, when we
feel guilty, we usually are! Uh, Matthew 5:13ff. comes to mind.
That's www.bnnsradio.com.
Tomorrow.
11:30 a.m.
Live with
Julie, Kathie, Bill, Tony, et...
Blessings and Love!
