Sisters/Brothers/Family in, through,
and for Jesus,
I've been running a little poll:
"When did the revival really pick up speed on the corner of Lincoln and
Main?"
Responses:
A handful of flattering suggestions.
References to pruning and purging.
Renovation.
Return of Sunday School.
Resurrection of 4 well-attended
adult SS classes.
Unleashing of DOMA.
Wineskin-expanded Praise Team.
Affirmation and applause for all of
our musical gifts.
Playground (Gift and Family of Faith
Construction)
Romans 16 identification and
isolation of inhibitions to Christocentrically Biblical witnesses like...
Extended care of family and beyond
via on-site therapist.
Positive VBS inertia.
And...
Surely, all of the above except the flattering
suggestions.
While I may be wrong but don't
think I am or I wouldn't mention it, I am convinced His power was especially
released by our selfless, sacrificial, inconvenient, persistent, consistent,
and continuing response substantively
and incarnationally to the Joplin tornado and establishment of our First
Response Team (You!) in concert with sister/brother/family congregations
(parochial and ecumenical).
I am even more convinced that the
revival will kick into overdrive and move off the charts in Biblical ways when
we become temporarily
inconvenienced to help feed
the hungry (souls and bellies) in forthcoming alliances that will stun the
religionists in Belvidere, Boone/McHenry/Winnebago Counties, our/other
franchises, and beyond while encouraging/emboldening women/men/girls/boys who
hunger and thirst for an authentic relationship with Jesus and people who
really love Jesus.
The disgraces of
ecclesiastical/egotistical segregation, separation, and schism along with those
walls of denominational divisions so insulting to what Jesus had in mind for us
in John 17 are about to..."Priests/Pastors/People, tear down this
wall!"
As the playground has added daily
color and invitational, welcoming, including, and loving winsomeness to the
north side of the campus, we're gonna resurrect those yellow family of faith
signs and post 'em over bland spots and then blare our goal, ambition, and
prayer:
"A Beacon for Jesus!"
"A Safe Haven for Everyone!"
Stay tuned to www.bnnsradio.com, www.belvpresbyterian.org, weekly
bulletins, regular newsletters, and scripts for updates that will announce
increasing movement from trickles to rivers of living water.
Jesus: "It's time! The
Kingdom of God is near! Seek forgiveness, change your actions, and
believe this good news!"
Blessings and Love!
