Friends,
Two immediate opportunities:
1. You remember Bob Hecox! He
was a faithful member of our family of faith who has gone home to Jesus.
Well, his granddaughter, Alyrica Hecox, will be going to Peru as part of a
mission team from Taylor University in cooperation with Vision Trust and Hogar Casa Luz which is a safe haven for newborns to 12th graders.
The mission team will provide Bible studies, VBS, activities, Biblical purity
training for teens, health assessments and hygiene training, work projects, and
homestays with church families. The team of 15 must raise $36,450 for
airfare, ground transportation, lodging, meals, and ministry supplies.
All funds must be received by December 6, 2013 for the team's missionary journey
on January 7-28, 2014. If the Lord is nudging you to help support this
mission effort for the glory of Jesus, please send a tax deductible
contribution/check to "First Presbyterian Church" and designate it
for "Alyrica Hecox Peru Mission Team" asap. We will then send
one check to Taylor University in the official envelope provided for us.
2. Commencing 10/9/13, next
Wednesday, our family of faith will host Presbyterian Elders in Prayer's Mountaintop Cell(ular) Ministry in our sanctuary from noon - 3:00 p.m. to commune with
the Lord with special emphasis on presenting intercessions to Him as introduced
to us from around the country along with our family of faith and surrounding
target ministry area via prayer requests forwarded to kmac@belvpresbyterian.org or left
on our prayer line at 815-544-3535. Please do not hit "reply' to
this e-mail to leave prayer requests. The prayer list will be
confidential. The prayer line often includes a very brief salt/light
devotional. While anyone who wants to pray in the sanctuary is welcome,
this is an international/national/local/congregational ministry of Presbyterian
Elders in Prayer (PEP) hosted by First and led by the Holy Spirit through a
board member of PEP and most normally its executive director.
Blessings and Love!
