Holy Week worship opportunities

Hi All!

If you’re looking for a place to worship, this week, come and join us. There’s many opportunities including Maunday Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Morning.

Maunday Thursday worship is at 7:00pm in the sanctuary.

Good Friday is an open house worship style which gives you the opportunity to hear messages given by several different community pastors. It is from 12 noon to 3pm. Each message is in 15 minute segments with small breaks between. Come and stay for as long as you are able.

Easter Sunday has 2 worship opportunities. 7:20 am in our chapel or 10:00am in the sanctuary.

Check out our Facebook page for the bulletins concerning the above at First Presbyterian Church Belvidere.

Blessings and Love!

What are you giving up for Lent?

So many times we do things as “Christians” because of tradition or ritual. This year, instead of just giving up something mindless for Lent, I ask that you remind yourself of its purpose. The purpose of giving up something for Lent is to relate to the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus and how he endured the 40 days in the desert. Although tempted and tormented during that journey, Jesus turned to His Father and Gods Word for refuge. He was not fulfilled by food or pleasures that were offered to Him. In this same manner, we should not only give up some of our temptations, but turn to Christ for fulfillment. This should be a time of reliance on God, wholly. Allow the way you are observing this season to remove distractions that pull us out of Gods will in our lives. Then, turn to His word for guidance. Remember that HIS best for us is always good. Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you. Plans to prosper you and not harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future.”
God Bless!

Season of Lent 2019

Just a notice that there will be another opportunity to worship as we prepare our hearts for Easter. This is the reason we live confidently amidst our trials. Come give thanks for the best gift He has given and align your hearts with Him. Beginning this Wednesday, March 6th (Ash Wednesday) at 5:30, we will worship through song and scripture readings. This will continue every Wednesday at 5:30 through Holy Week. The final Wednesday will be April 17th. Please call the church office with any questions. Blessings and Love!
