With
the plethora of inconsequential to consequential
meetings, appointments, detours, distractions, and
redundancies, it's sometimes hard to just sit down
with our pastor for a calm cup of coffee or something
else, uh, non-addicting (hmm). Truth is ministry has
changed so much in the last 30 years. Our pastor used
to set up a jar of lemonade on his desk for folks just
wanting to drop by whenever for whatever; because, as
you know, he doesn't do anything except show up for a
few services on Sundays. But it can be frustrating for
folks who remember the good old days that never were
or maybe were but are no more; so our pastor decided
to set aside a few "drop in" hours every week for
anyone about anything except discussing why the Cubs
and White Sox will always be his second favorite
teams. So drop by for a minute, half hour, or until he
bores you to departure. This is an open invitation for
whomever for whatever whenever. And if no one shows
up, he'll just talk to himself - kinda like
homiletics.
